Privacy

What this website does with your personal data, in plain words. It is designed to keep as little as possible: no advertising, no tracking, a simple visit count without cookies, and more detailed audience measurement only if you accept it. This policy follows the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU 2016/679) and the Luxembourg Law of 1 August 2018.
Who is responsible
Laureen Seyll, Luxembourg, laureen.photographe@gmail.com.
What is collected, and why
The contact letter
The letter you fill in on the Contact page is not sent to the website: it opens in your email app or in WhatsApp, and you are the one who sends it. Laureen therefore receives your first name, your surname, your phone number, your email address and your project.
- Why
- To reply to you and prepare the shoot (pre-contractual measures, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- How long
- 3 years after the last exchange.
The client area
After your shoot, Laureen opens your private gallery. The website keeps your gallery, your photos, the ones you choose and your message. The access code is never stored in plain text. If you provide it, your mobile number is used solely to send you a lost code again.
- Why
- To deliver your photos (performance of the contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- How long
- For the duration of the project, then 2 years.
Competition and event photos
The photos you tick stay in your phone's memory, not on the website. Your order is sent by email or by WhatsApp, like the contact letter.
Security
To block anyone trying to guess the codes, the website records the IP address behind a wrong code (deleted after 24 hours) and the one behind a lost-code request (deleted after 7 days). Like any host, Cloudflare processes the IP address of every visit to deliver the pages and protect the website.
- Why
- To protect the private galleries (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Cookies and phone memory
No advertising or social media cookies. Audience measurement cookies are only set with your consent; the others are essential to the service you request and therefore do not require your consent.
Audience measurement, with your consent
If you accept it, Google Analytics counts visits and page views, to find out what interests the website's visitors. It sets the cookies _ga and _ga_4F58RE9KQG, kept for 13 months at most. Laureen only sees overall statistics, never who you are. If you decline, nothing is loaded or set.
- Why
- To measure traffic on the website (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- How long
- Cookies: 13 months at most. Statistics at Google: 14 months.
The number of visits, without cookies
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views and the website's loading time, without cookies, without storing anything on your phone and without recognising you from one visit to the next. It keeps no data that could identify you; your consent is therefore not required.
- Why
- To know which pages are read and whether the website is fast (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Essential, without consent:
- seyll_galerie: a cookie set only when you open your gallery with your code, to keep it open. 30 days.
- Your phone's memory keeps the photos ticked on the Events page, the last photo seen on the home page (to show you a different one), your choice for audience measurement, your choice to turn off the music and the point reached in the track, so that it carries on from one page to the next. Nothing leaves it.
The fonts are hosted with the website, not at Google. Instagram only opens if you tap its link.
Who else has access
Your data is never sold or lent. It only passes through:
- Cloudflare, Inc., host of the website and the client area. A US company participating in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; transfers are also covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
- Google Ireland Ltd (Google Analytics), only if you accept audience measurement. Data may be transferred to the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
- Google (Laureen's Gmail inbox) and WhatsApp (Meta), when you choose to write through them, under their own rules.
- Laureen's accountant or the tax authorities, when an invoice requires it; a public authority, upon a lawful request.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive your data, to restrict its use or to object to it: write to laureen.photographe@gmail.com, reply within one month. If you disagree, you can lodge a complaint with the Commission nationale pour la protection des données (CNPD), 15 boulevard du Jazz, L-4370 Belvaux, Luxembourg (cnpd.public.lu).
Image rights
A recognisable person only appears in the portfolio with their consent. On the competition and event pages, photos are sorted by bib number or by first name. Is there a photo of you that you want removed? Write to Laureen: she will take it down.
